Samaritans
Samaritans are available round the clock, every single day of the year. They provide a safe place with zero judgement for anyone who is struggling to cope – no matter who they are, how they are feeling and no matter what life has thrown at them.
A service that offers an array of mental health support for young people. YoungMinds also offers support to parents who may be concerned about the emotional wellbeing of a child or young person. Lots of support and resources are available on the YoungMinds website.
Mind
Mind aims to empower people with life-changing information, helping them understand mental health, make informed choices, and feel less alone in their journey. Mind are there when it matters most – offering real help, real people, and real hope every step of the way.
Breathing Space
A free, confidential phoneline for anyone in Scotland over the age of 16, feeling low, anxious or depressed. Breathing Space also offer a Webchat service which is available Monday to Friday from 6.00pm to 2.00am, Saturday and Sunday from 4.00pm to 12.00am.

CALM
The CALM suicide prevention helpline is open 5pm until midnight every day – via phone, webchat and WhatsApp. Free, confidential and anonymous. CALM’s vision is that no one feels like suicide is their only option and their mission is to help people end their misery, not their lives. They provide life-saving services, information and advice to help anyone struggling with life, navigate the issues that can make us feel miserable.
Papyrus
PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide is the UK charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people. Their suicide prevention helpline, HOPELINE247, is staffed by trained suicide prevention advisers, who work with young people – and anybody concerned for a young person – to help keep them safe from suicide. HOPELINE247 is a free and confidential call, text and email service, which is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year (weekends and bank holidays included).
Mental Health Foundation:
Mental Health Foundation is challenging the way things are done and creating fundamental change in the UK’s approach to mental and focuses on preventing poor mental health as well as building up and protecting good mental health.
SAMH
Whether you’re seeking support, are looking for more information for you or someone you love, or if you just want to have chat about mental health, SAMH are there to help. You can also speak to an advisor through their Live Web Chat which will pop up when an advisor is available.
